Update On the Ripple Afghan

This ripple afghan I've started crocheting has been testing my patience. LOL 😁I've had to frog (rip-it) 6 rows one time and 2 rows twice. But I think I finally have the pattern down and it's coming along faster and easier. I'm no longer counting stitches while I'm crocheting but I do go back and check each row to make sure that I have the proper number of stitches in between the peaks and valleys. I sure don't want to have to frog again.

Here's what it looks like as of this morning.

It's not a great photo, sorry, but at least you can see the progress. At this rate I should have the afghan completed soon.

My photos will improve in the next few days as I am getting a new phone.  Yay!! I have ordered a new Samsung Galaxy S8+ and it should be here today or tomorrow. I can't wait to get it. BTW, I got it through Xfinity, they have a new mobile service for Xfinity internet customers. Great rates and cell service is through Verizon and you can use any Xfinity hotspot. I couldn't pass it up. Check it out here.

Until next time, happy hooking!

I Didn't Want To Do It

I didn't want to do it. I was really resisting it. I loved how it looked but I was afraid I wouldn't have the patience to learn it. What is it you ask? Well, it's the ripple afghan. I had been looking at gorgeous ripple afghans for quite some time and I wanted to learn how to crochet one, but kept putting it off. I started this afghan on late night 3 nights ago and got a few rows on it. I worked on it some for the past 2 days and had the first sequence of colors done and started on the second. Then I noticed that I had made a mistake 6 rows back and it was throwing the whole afghan off. Grrrrrrrrrr, I frogged it and am now back to that same point I was. This would have been bigger by at least 12 rows but I'm happy with how it's working out now. I believe I'll list it in my shop when I'm finished with it.

Here's a photo of it from my Facebook page.

I've been busy making things to put in my shop. This tote bag is new.

I made this organizer for my special hooks and scissors. It's former life was a sherbet container. I just crocheted a cozy for it. I think I'll make more of these and be listing them.

I'm working on cotton dishcloths as well. They'll be listed soon. I always have a few different projects going at one time. That way I can switch to a different one if I get bored, or take a smaller one with me when I go someplace.

Well, back to crocheting the afghan. Until next time, happy hooking!

Meme Monday #8

It's Meme Monday!

I've felt like this often.

Boho Beach Bag Tote In Shop

I finished the tote that I had been working on. I had to take a trip across the mountain to go to Michael's to find the wooden beads for it.  We seriously need a craft store nearby. Fifty miles either way to the closest one. Anyway, the tote is crocheted in 100% cotton yarn. I love the feel of it and it's very roomy.

There are more photos in my Etsy shop that I just re-opened the other day. You can click through either of the photos above or the banner or Etsy mini shop below to see more items.

Thanks for looking!

Meme Monday #6

It's Meme Monday! This one is so true.

Crocheted Boho Hobo Bag

I've been looking at patterns for bags for awhile now and decided that I would make a hobo bag. I loved the color combination that I used in my latest basket and decided to crochet the hobo bag in those colors. I loosely followed this pattern for the Hobo Bag. You'll have to download the PDF from Ravelry because the Hook Candy domain, which is where it was hosted, is for sale. If you aren't a Ravelry member already it's free and easy to join. Tons of patterns on there and groups and forums. I could spend all day looking at patterns there. Anyway, this bag took very little time to make. I changed up the stitches a bit, using a drop stitch single crochet in places. I didn't add the side pockets because of the design of the stitches. I may add a large back pocket instead.
Here it is, finished for now. I'm considering something on the flap, still debating what though. It just needs some color I think.

I started a cotton tote bag last night, after crocheting another dishcloth for my kitchen. It's not much to look at now as I've only got the first few rows on it. More on the cotton tote bag in the next post.
Until next time, happy hooking!

Latest Projects

I've been working on a few projects lately and have actually finished a few.

I made this basket this week.

I made this dishcloth earlier this week from scraps of cotton yarn. I just LOVE using these in my kitchen. They scrub better than a regular dishcloth and I love the soft, thick feel of them.

I made this pencil/pen hook organizer yesterday. It's a recycled can that I crocheted over.

Last week I made this cactus to put in my hallway window, totally freehand, no pattern.

I have loads of projects in mind to do. I'm going to attempt a bag next, using the yarn left over from the basket. I hope it turns out like I have envisioned.

Until next time! Happy hooking!
