Bathroom Rug Finished

I mentioned in a previous post that I was going to start working on a bathroom rug. Well it is done and I'm quite pleased with the way it looks. I think it's going to look great in my apartment. It's made with 100% cotton yarn so it'll be absorbent and soft. I crocheted it with 2 different colored yarns at the same time so that it's nice and thick.

What do you think of it?

Back to work on my granny square afghan.

Until next time!

Ever Have Days Like This?

I love to crochet, it's my passion. It keeps me calm, motivated, gives me something to do with my hands. I love creating things. Sometimes though, when I crochet, I run out of yarn before the end of the row. I hate when that happens don't you??? Well, I saw this meme and had to snag it. This sums up how I feel.

LOL

I hope that brought a smile to your face. Have a great day! Off to get my car inspected.

Until next time!

Apartment Hunting, Granny Squares and More

As I wrote in my last post, I have been apartment hunting. I think I finally will be able to get into an apartment within the next month. Thank goodness! It's close to my youngest daughter's place too. I expect to hear something from the apartment manager within the next week or so. Keeping fingers crossed!

I've also been busy crocheting. I've made several double thick potholders, washcloths, a placemat, a "bag bag" (storage bag for grocery bags) and I'm working on my first ever granny square afghan.

The granny square afghan is a "work in between" project. I'm currently joining what squares I have made and I can't work with the black yarn very long or I go cross-eyed. That's why I have several smaller projects going for when I'm taking a break from joining granny squares. Once I've run out of squares I'll start making more.  Here's a photo of the progress so far.

I'll be putting a border around it once I'm done. I'd like to run a row of each of the flower petal colors around the border with black in between the other colors. I think it'll look good that way.

I've made two potholders, both double thick. This one I gave to my daughter.

This one I made for me, for my new apartment's kitchen. I used the same colors as in my rug, you can check it out HERE. I have another potholder that I made just like this one but it has purple trim. It's currently packed away.

Here's a placemat I made that also matches. It needs blocking to square it up a bit though.

Finally, my latest creation, a "bag bag". It's a bag to store plastic grocery bags in. I love how it turned out. There's a hole at the top to put the bags in and a hole at the bottom to pull them out of. It'll come in handy for sure as I like to re-use the grocery bags for trash bags and such.

I want to get started on another rug, this one will be for the bathroom. I can't WAIT to get into my apartment. I have missed having my own place.

Back to work on the granny square afghan!

Until next time!
